CHAIR YOGA

POSTURES AND BREATHING EXERCISES WITH THE AID OF A CHAIR. 

 

THIS CLASS OFFERS VARIATIONS AND MODIFICATIONS OF POSTURES WITH THE USE OF A CHAIR AND ADDITIONAL PROPS. STUDENTS CAN EXPERIENCE YOGA WITHOUT HAVING TO GET UP AND DOWN FROM THE FLOOR.

STUDENTS IN THIS CLASS WOULD BENEFIT FROM ADDITIONAL SUPPORT DUE TO LIMITED RANGE OF MOTION OR MOBILITY. BENEFITS OF THIS CLASS INCLUDE INCREASED BALANCE, STRENGTH, FLEXIBILITY, AND RANGE OF MOTION.

ONCOLOGY YOGA

THIS ONCOLOGY YOGA CLASS IS A VINYASA STYLE CLASS WITH SEQUENCES DESIGNED TO MEET THE NEEDS OF A PERSON DIAGNOSED WITH CANCER.

A CANCER DIAGNOSIS CHANGES YOUR LIFE.

WHETHER RECENTLY DIAGNOSED, PREPARING FOR TREATMENT, OR COPING WITH THE SIDE EFFECTS OF TREATMENT- OUR HOPE IS TO CREATE A SPACE AND COMMUNITY WHERE YOU CAN MOVE AND BREATHE IN WAYS THAT SUPPORT YOUR BODY AND MIND.

THIS CLASS WILL USE NUMEROUS PROPS AND OFFER MULTIPLE MODIFICATIONS. CLASS SIZE IS LIMITED AND REQUIRES PREREGISTRATION. PLEASE OBTAIN PHYSICIAN APPROVAL BEFORE COMING TO THIS CLASS.

BEGINNER YOGA

THIS CLASS IS DESIGNED FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVEN'T DONE YOGA BEFORE, OR FOR AN EXPERIENCED PRACTITIONER TO BRUSH UP ON FUNDAMENTALS.

IT IS OPEN TO STUDENTS OF ALL PHYSICAL ABILITIES.

​

STUDENTS WILL BE OFFERED VARIATIONS TO ACCOMMODATE VARIUS LEVELS OF FLEXIBILITY AND STRENGTH.

​

IN EACH CLASS, WE WILL EXPLORE A RANGE OF ASANAS (POSES), BREATHING TECHNIQUES, AND CONCEPTS. 

​

STUDENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO ASK QUESTIONS DURING THE CLASS.

LEVEL 1

A GENTLE AND THERAPEUTIC FOCUSED CLASS. THIS CLASS FOCUSES ON RELEASING TENSION, CONNECTING WITH THE BREATH AND HELPING STUDENTS GAIN STRENGTH AND FLEXIBILITY.

 

THIS CLASS AVOIDS PLACING PRESSURE ON JOINTS AND WILL INCORPORATE THE USE OF PROPS TO SUPPORT POSTURES. 

 

STUDENTS IN THIS CLASS WOULD BENEFIT FROM PAIN PREVENTION AND RELIEF DUE TO JOINT PAIN AND/OR INJURIES.

LEVEL 2

A LOWER INTENSITY CLASS. THIS CLASS FOCUSES ON RELEASING TENSION, CONNECTING WITH THE BREATH AND HELPING STUDENTS GAIN STRENGTH AND FLEXIBILITY BUT WITH LONGER HOLDS AND INCREASED DIFFICULTY OF MOVEMENTS AND POSTURES.

 

THIS CLASS WILL INCLUDE POSTURES LIKE CAT AND COW, STANDING BALANCES, AND OCCASIONALLY DOWNWARD FACING DOG.

 

PROPS WILL BE USED AND MODIFICATIONS WILL BE OFFERED.

STUDENTS IN THIS CLASS WOULD BENEFIT FROM SLOWER AND GENTLE MOVEMENTS.

LEVEL 3

AN INTERMEDIATE CLASS. THIS CLASS ADDS POSTURES WHICH REQUIRE MORE STRENGTH AND A FASTER PACE OF MOVEMENT.

 

THIS CLASS WILL OFFER DOWNWARD FACING DOG, POSTURES THAT WILL PLACE PRESSURE ON JOINTS, AND BALANCE WORK.

 

MODIFICATIONS WILL STILL BE OFFERED.

STUDENTS IN THIS CLASS HAVE THE ABILITY TO PUT PRESSURE ON THEIR JOINTS.

LEVEL 4

A HIGHER INTENSITY CLASS. THIS CLASS FOCUSES ON STRENGTH AND BALANCE BUILDING POSTURES WHICH OFTEN REQUIRES A FASTER PACE OF MOVEMENT.

 

THIS CLASS COULD POTENTIALLY BE HEATED (ALWAYS NOTED ON THE SCHEDULE). ALMOST ALL TYPES OF POSTURES ARE POSSIBLE IN THIS CLASS WITH THE OPTION FOR VARIATIONS AND/OR MODIFICATIONS.

 

MODIFICATIONS WILL BE OFFERED LESS OFTEN IN THIS CLASS.

STUDENTS IN THIS CLASS HAVE THE ABILITY TO PLACE PRESSURE ON JOINTS AND TRANSITION COMFORTABLY

LEVEL 5

THE HIGHEST INTENSITY OFFERED. THIS CLASS INCORPORATES MULTIPLE SIGNIFICANT STRENGTH AND BALANCE BUILDING POSTURES AND OFTEN REQUIRES A FASTER PACE OF MOVEMENT.

 

THIS CLASS COULD POTENTIALLY BE HEATED (ALWAYS NOTED ON THE SCHEDULE). ALMOST ALL TYPES OF POSTURES ARE POSSIBLE IN THIS CLASS.

 

MODIFICATIONS WILL RARELY BE OFFERED IN THIS CLASS.

STUDENTS IN THIS CLASS HAVE THE ABILITY TO PLACE PRESSURE ON JOINTS, TRANSITION COMFORTABLY AND ARE FAMILIAR WITH A VARIETY OF POSTURES.
